1) Always plan to arrive 5-10 mins early for EVERY appointment. The time your massage is scheduled for, is the time your massage STARTS. Arriving early gives us time to do your pre-session intake, gives you time to go to the bathroom, get ready and on the table, and ensures you get your FULL session time spent on massage. 


2) Your NEW CLIENT INTAKE FORM needs to be filled out at least 24 hours in advance of your session. You received a welcome email with this link, but if you misplaced it you can find the link below. Failing to fill this out beforehand will likely mean you will cut into your massage time while you fill this out at our office.


2) What to wear: You can dress however you like when you come to your session, as we will have you undress fully before your session (you may leave underwear on if you feel you need to). You will be modestly covered at all times, and only uncovered as we work on one area at a time before you're recovered. 


3) PPM is located at 602 Brighton Ave in Portland Maine. Parking is behind the building, first drive on the left on Hastings St. Please call if you have any issues finding us.

4) Tipping: is not mandatory, but always appreciated. If you choose to tip, 15-20% gratuity of the full, undiscounted cost of the service is the industry standard.

5) All clients agree to give at least 24 hours notice for cancellations/rescheduling. (You sign an intake form stating this before your first session.)


Make sure the email you received upon booking your session is accurate and the date/time works with your schedule.

If for some reason you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know immediately. 

6) if you have any of THESE HIGH RISK pregnancy conditions, please get a note from your doctor or midwife regarding massage PRIOR to your visit to our office:

  • Surface blood clots or history of clotting issues

  • Cardiac disorders or disease 

  • Previous major surgery on organs or organ transplant

  • Carrying triplets or more

  • Illegal Drug exposure during pregnancy

  • HIV Positive

       (Note: Any other high-risk conditions are no problem for us.) 

 7) If you are CURRENTLY experiencing any of the following, massage is NOT recommended:

  • Threat of miscarriage - current bleeding, spotting, hemorrhaging

  • Active Infectious or contagious disease

  • Premature labor (labor prior to 37 weeks) -- but we can work with women on bed rest.

  • Fever, Nausea, or Diarrhea

  • GEPH (Pre-eclampsia)

  • Toxemia (eclampsia)

  • No regular fetal movement felt for 8-10 and you're worried

  • Severe, unexplained abdominal pain

  • Throbbing/Migraine headache

  • Kidney and/or bladder disease or infection

  • Cancer or undiagnosed lumps

  • Any active inflammatory disease affecting blood vessels

  • Diabetes - with active complications

  • Breast infection with fever


Please notify our office, or your massage therapist before your session, if you develop any new health conditions or          symptoms, no matter how minor.


8) Prepaid Sessions: All payments including prepaid packages and single sessions are non-refundable, and always expire ONE YEAR from purchase. You may use prepaid, unexpired sessions at any time before, during, or after pregnancy, or they can be transferred to be used by a friend or family member, male or female.

9) Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are not currently being offered as we're fully booked, however if you'd like to gift a session to someone and are able to find an opening on the calendar, you may schedule and prepay for them, just keep an eye out for some important emails they will need to read.

We have reserved your appointment time JUST for you.

If a true emergency presents itself that conflicts with your appointment, We ask to be notified immediately. You can email, text, or call and leave a message, but it is your responsibility to ensure you have received a reply to confirm cancellation BEFORE your missed appointment time. 

  • Cancel/change your appointment with  24 hours notice, or more: no charge.

  • Cancel/change within 24 hours of your appointment for any reason: 50% of the full session rate. You can avoid this by sending someone in your place! If we can fill the appointment: no charge.

  • Cancel/change your appointment within 2 hours: Full charge, unless we can rebook that slot. 

  • No show, no notice: if you simply do not show up for any reason, with no notice, your card on file will be charged for the session. 

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR: minimum 3 hours notice required to cancel your appointment.  

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR and don't notify us, and no show, we will charge the card on file the full rate for the session. 

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR and give less than 3 hours notice, we will charge the card on file the cancellation fee (50% of your full session rate) - unless we can fill your vacancy.

If you feel your circumstances warrant special consideration, please let me know ASAP so I can make a decision.
